Summer is here at last and we have been enjoying some fantastic weather. Long may it continue.
Qwerk has lots of outdoor events lined up.
We started with the Bromborough Summer Fair on Saturday 9th June. I must congratulate the organisers as this was a very well planned out event and a very good attendance – it helps when entrance is free! Unfortunately, we were right next to the BBQ stall manned by Muff’s the local butcher – great for bringing the crowds to our stall, but not good for Lynne and myself as we do not eat meat ☹. We also had a childrens face painter on the other side and the queues were very long, so it gave the parents time to browse our stall 😊
We will also be at Hoylake Summer Strum on Saturday 7th July, Parkgate Carnival on Sunday 8th July and Thornton Village Hall for the Autism Together event on Saturday 14th July. We finish July with the Tranmere Festival on Sunday 29th.
The Barn Heswall
We are also thrilled to be part of an exciting new venture – The Barn in Heswall. This amazing place is the brainchild of Samantha Peddie who has created a wonderful place for talented local artists and small businesses to display their products all under one roof. Sammy herself creates some lovely scented candles. There will also be many workshops running on a regular basis with something for everyone from upholstery courses to Mexican tin art.
As well as The Barn Qwerk is also part of a new group called Wirral Artisans who will be holding monthly events at St. Andrews church hall in West Kirby. There will be an eclectic mix of hand crafted goods on display and a cafe area providing tea, coffee and home-made cakes. Well worth a browse.
All in all, a very busy summer lies ahead of us.
